A major part of the concerts each season are conducted by Vladimir Spivakov, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the National Philharmonic of Russia. His programmes are always well thought-over, ideally structured and varied in styles and genres. Devoted Friends
While purposefully widening the group of artistic partners, the NPR adheres to the musicians who are close to the Orchestra in aesthetics and spirit. They include conductors James Conlon, George Cleve and Alexander Lazarev, pianists Denis Matsuev and Alexander Ghindin, singers Hibla Gerzmava. Premieres and Rarities
Every season the NPR heeds special attention to musical works which are performed very seldom or never at all in Russia. Thus, in the current season the Orchestra will play unknown works by composers from Scandinavia: Maskats, Vasks, Grondal, Tveitt, Nielsen that are rarely guests in the Russian musical life. 2009: 14.11; 2010: 23.01, 12.02 and 29.04
Star Voices
Since its formation the NPR has been maintaining a permanent collaboration with many exceptional singers, soloists of the operatic world stage, who have achieved worldwide recognition.
